Gonzales gains Mexico semis

Fil-American Ruben Gonzales continued his impressive run of form overseas after he and American partner Brandon Anandan barged into the semifinals of the Torneo Profesional Future Berimbau tennis tournament in Mexico City.

Gonzales and Anandan cruised past the Brazilian duo of Luis Britto and Ricardo Hocevar, 7-5, 6-2, as the pair never dropped a serve during their one-hour victory.

They will play Mexican top seed Hans Hach and Luis Patino for a seat in the finals.

Gonzales hopes to keep his hot streak after teaming up with Darian King of Barbados in capturing the $10,000 ITF Futures event last weekend.

Meanwhile, fellow Fil-Am and Philippine Davis Cupper Treat Huey is partnering with Max Mirnyi at the French Open doubles next week.
