Huey, pal in semis
Philippines’ No. 1 player Treat Huey and Max Mirnyi of Belarus resumed their fiery
charge after advancing in the semifinals of the Millennium Estoril Open in Portugal
yesterday.
The second-seeded Huey and Mirnyi relied on their aggressive plays and thumped Great
Britain’s Kyle Edmund and local bet Frederico Ferreira Silva, 6-4, 6-4, to inch
closer to the crown in this Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) 500 claycourt
event.
The win set up Huey and Mirnyi a date with fourth pick Eric Butorac and Scott Lipsky
of the United States, who dominated Spaniard duo Pablo Carreno Busta and Iñigo Cervantes,
6-3, 6-1.
