MANILA, Philippines — Heinz Carbonilla and Debbie Gom-os pulled off a pair of straight-set
victories to dominate the Cebuana Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championship Series
in Dipolog City recently.
Carbonilla, from Maranding, Lanao del Norte, crushed Neo Maratas, 6-0, 6-0, for
the boys’ 12-and-under crown then posted the same scoreline against Dwayne Daarol
in the 14-U finals of the tournament backed by Dunlop Sports as the official ball.

for the girls’ 16-U diadem then toppled Mea Ranas, 6-1, 6-1, in the 18-U finals.
“We have been keeping an eye on Carbonilla as he has steadily improved over the
years and keeps on winning consistently. He is a real product of this grassroots
tennis developmental program we initiated 12 years ago,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier,
president/CEO of the sponsoring Cebuana Lhuillier Group.
Zamboanga del Sur’s Garlandson Ardiente also posted twin victories, beating Kyne
Solis, 5-3, 4-0 for the 10-unisex title before teaming up with his victim to win
the 10-U doubles crown.

6-1 in the boys’ 18-U finals, while Ledama trounced Stephen Guia, 6-4, 6-0, in the
16-U crown.
