CEBU’s Jan Godfrey “Noy” Seno aims to be part of the PH junior tennis squad that will be competing in the 2015 Davis Cup qualifying tournament this April.

Seno, 15, of the University of San Carlos North Campus, received an invitation from the PHL top junior netter, Alberto Lim, Jr. to be part of the team. For him to get a chance to represent the country, he had to double his efforts in collecting Philippine Lawn Tennis Association (Philta) points to make it to the Junior Davis Cup squad.

“Lim, ranked No. 1 player in the Under 16 and Under 18 divisions, advised me to collect enough Philta points so that I will have a chance to be part of the Junior Davis Cup,” said Seno.

Seno felt that it was an honor to be invited to the team, especially for the trust and confidence Lim showed in him that he can contribute a lot to the team.

“I felt privileged to be invited, thinking there are also good junior tennis players in the country and I was among that got invited to be part of the World Junior Davis Cup tournament,” said Seno.

Seno and Lim got the chance to play as partners and won the doubles title in the 2013 Ajay Pathak Memorial Cup Cup/ITF Asia 14-Under Development Championships tournament at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Meanwhile, Seno, who hails from Bogo City, recently dominated in the Boys 16 under and 18 under in the third leg of the 2015 Cebuana Lhuillier-Dunlop Sports Age Group tennis tournament.

Seno, unseeded in the boys 16 under, redeemed himself as he shocked seed No. 2 Arthur Craig “Iggy” Pantino, 6-0,6-0, to defend his title in the boys 16 under, while routing the visiting force of CDO’s Clyde Mari Casino, 6-1, 6-1, in the boys 18 under title.

“I was confident in my serves after winning against Pantino in the 16 under finals because he was not able to break my serve,” said Seno.
