Iriga City Bets Dominate In Cebuana Age Group Tennis Legaspi City Leg
Iriga City bets dominated the girls' division in the recently-concluded Cebuana
Lhuillier Age Group Tennis Championships leg in Legaspi City, winning all three
age group categories at the same time that Iriga native Harvey Vincent Alanis ruled
both the 16 & under and 18 & under boys' division age groups.
Glydel Guevara started Iriga's run by beating another Iriga bet Andrika Anne Idioma
6 - 1 , 6 - 1 in the 12 & under with Patricia Corporal sweeping local bet Zia Arcanghel
6 - 0 , 6 - 0 to take the 14 & under title, Nica Alanis completed the sweep with
an easy 6 - 0, 6 - 1 win over Corporal in the 18 & under finals.
The boys' side saw Harvely Alanis disposing of Naga City's Nolan Gagalac 6 - 2 ,
6 - 0 for the 16 & under crown and followed up with another easy victory over citymate
Esmond John Roman 6 - 1 , 6 - 0 in the finals of the 18 & under age group of this
grassroots tennis developmental tournament supported by Dunlop Sports.
Other boys' division winners were Gagalac in the 14 & under where he defeated Iriga's
Jan Harold Trillanes 6 - 2 , 6 - 2, host city's Jennard Gonzales who beat Trillanes
6 - 2 , 6 - 4 to take the 12 & under group while Ligao City barged into the gold
medal winners with Julius Ceasar Gonzales blanking Iriga's Mark Egipto 4 - 0, 4
- 0 for the 10 & under unisex age group competition.
The year-round and nation-wide tennis series plays its next leg in Siquijor October
3 to 6, according to tournament organizer Mario Craiz.
